Sound too easy? The beauty of reiki healing is that it really is that simple, and that profound.

The name says it all. Reiki (pronounced ‘ray - key') comes from the Japanese words rei, meaning universal, and ki, the energy flowing through all living things.

Accessing this ‘ray' of universal healing reiki is ‘key' to facilitating healing.

Life force flows through your body, through your chakras and meridians and around you through our aura, nourishing your organs and cells.

It responds to your thoughts and feelings, and is disrupted whenever you have conscious or subconscious negative thoughts or feelings about yourself.

Negative thoughts and feelings attach to your energy field disrupting the natural flow. This reduces your organ and cellular function.

History

Reiki began as a Tibetan Buddhist practice some 3,000 years ago. Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese minister, rediscovered it in the mid 1800s.

What it is

Universal healing reiki teaches that life force energy has a source that can be contacted and tapped into, and that you can easily learn to use it. There are always positive results, though not always the ones you expect.

Reiki is a hands-on healing technique using a particular form of life force that can only be channeled by people who've been attuned to it.

A practitioner with reiki healing hands accesses this particular form of energy to promote healing. It flows through their body into yours according to your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs.

Self healing reiki flows through negatively affected parts of your energy field and charges them with positive energy. This raises the vibrational level in and around your body, breaking up negative energy and clearing energy pathways, so life force can flow naturally.

Reiki differs from many other forms of natural healing in that it can be done with the practitioner in a different location from you. This energy is not affected by distance.

During their training, reiki practitioners receive a specific initiation allowing them to tap into the Universal Live Force.

The three degrees of reiki each require a special attunement.

When you receive Reiki First Degree you can give energy to any living thing by touching it. This enables you to treat yourself, family members,your dogs, or cats, even house plants!

When you receive Reiki Second Degree you can give distant treatments, and treat mental or emotional problems.

When you receive the Reiki Third Degree level you become a reiki master. Your ability to heal is increased, and you can teach reiki to others.

Reiki also encourages spiritual growth by increasing your ability to meditate or pray, so you can access your inner guidance.

In addition to treating physical ailments, it helps with deep emotional and mental problems such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. It also helps calm children with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD).
