Homemade Aromatherapy Made Easy

Create the bath of your dreams with homemade aromatherapy

Homemade Aromatherapy is fun, easy and cost effective to boot! Creating homemade aromatherapy bath products is a great place to begin, and your skin will love you for it!

Bone up on these aromatherapy for beginners tips, and begin enjoying the benefits of aromatherapy!

1) Be Authentic!

Start with high quality natural essential oils. Synthetic essential oils, while less expensive, just don’t smell or work the same as natural essential oils.

Imitations are pale comparisons at best, and at worst, can cause complications such as allergic reactions.

It’s possible for natural essential oils to cause reactions such as a rash, headaches, sneezing and itchy eyes, but you're far more likely to react to artificial oils.

To be certain, buy your oils at reliable stores, and if you see scents such as strawberry and lilac (which can only be produced as synthetics) keep looking!

2) Know Your Scents!

This one just makes good sense, and will help you avoid mishaps. Before you add essential oils to your bath, make sure you know what you’re getting into! Not all oils are multi-purpose, and some can pack quite a punch!

For example, when I first began exploring the benefits of aromatheray, I once added a blend of Grapefruit, lemon and orange oils to my bath, thinking it’d uplift and invigorate me.

Well it sure made me more lively -- I jumped out of there pretty quick and showered the concoction off, feeling like it took a layer of skin with it! Now, I stick with a few drops of lavender.

When in doubt, consult your Aromatherapy Chart (lClick this link, opens new window)
